Templates
The same lines come back from job to job: "Call-out fee", "Bathroom demolition", "Carpenter hour". Templates let you write it once and pull it up again — same text, same hourly rate, same materials — instead of rebuilding every line from scratch for each quote.
A template is simply a finished quote line: the name, an optional description, the quantity and unit, the price and an optional discount. Anything you put in an ordinary item can sit ready in a template.
Two ways to make a template
The easiest route is through a quote you have already built. If you just wrote a line you know will come back, save it as a template right away:
- Open the item in the quote and go to edit mode.
- Tap the options button and choose Save as template. You get the confirmation Added to templates, and the line is now ready for next time.
If you would rather build templates from scratch, do it in the Templates panel:
- Open Templates in the app.
- Tap Template in the top right to start a new one.
- Fill in the name, description, quantity, unit and price — just like an ordinary quote line — and save.
If the panel is empty, you are met with "No templates have been created yet" and a shortcut to make the first one.
Keep order with labels
Once you have a lot of templates, group them with labels — for example "Bathroom", "Electrical" or "Call-out".
- Tap Manage in the label row.
- Choose New label, give it a name, and attach it to the templates it belongs to.
At the top you switch between Group — templates sorted under each label — and Filter, which shows one label at a time. All shows everything, and templates you have not labelled gather under Unlabeled. If you have many, the Search templates field finds them fast.
Use a template in a quote
Templates earn their keep where the work happens — inside the quote:
- In the quote, choose to add an item From template.
- Tick the templates you want — several at a time — and tap Add to quote.
Tredco drops a copy of the template into the quote. If you adjust the price or the text for that particular job, you only change the copy — the template itself stays untouched for next time. That way "Carpenter hour" can hold your standard rate in the template while you still give a discount on this one job.
The assistant knows your templates
You do not always have to open the panel yourself. When you dictate a quote, the assistant already knows your prices and wording and uses them as it builds the lines. Your templates are the memory it draws from — the more you put in, the less you type next time.
Templates go hand in hand with quotes on site: that is where they save you the most time.
