Notifications
You shouldn't have to open the app to check whether something happened. Tredco tells you when there's something you should know about — a customer replying to a quote, or a new invoice ready for review. Notifications reach you two ways: as a push notification on your phone, and by email. You decide what you hear about, and how.
Turn on notifications on your phone
The first time you open the app, Tredco asks for the access it needs — camera, photos, microphone, and notifications — on the Permissions Tredco needs screen. The microphone is for dictating messages and recording video with sound; the rest explain themselves on the screen. Tap Allow access to say yes right away, or Skip for now if you'd rather wait. You can change it later; nothing is locked in.
If you skipped it, turn notifications on here:
- Open Notifications in settings — or just ask the assistant.
- Under This device you'll see Push notifications on this device with the status right now.
- If it says Not allowed, tap Allow notifications and accept in your phone's prompt.
The status tells you where you stand: On means Tredco can show notifications here, Not allowed means you haven't said yes yet, and Blocked means notifications are switched off for Tredco on the phone. If they're blocked, you have to turn them back on for Tredco in your phone's own settings — the app can't do it for you.
This part only shows in the mobile app. Email notifications reach you wherever you are.
Choose what you hear about
On the same page, under Notifications, you choose event by event. Each row shows whether it's set to Push, Email or Off. Tap a row to change the channel.

The notifications fall into four groups:
Quotes
Customer replies to a quote — a push notification when a customer sends a new reply in the quote conversation, so you can follow up right away.
Quote status changes — an email when a quote moves to a status you follow.
For quote status you pick which statuses send an email yourself. Tap the row, switch on Email, and tick the statuses under Statuses you follow. The default is Pending approval, Accepted and Rejected — marked with Default. You can add the others, like Expired, if you want.
Accounting
Incoming invoice is ready — a push notification when a new supplier invoice has been read and is ready for review.
Company inbox
Email needs your attention — a push notification when a forwarded email couldn't be handled automatically and the assistant has a question for you.
Calendar
Your plan changes — a push notification when you're scheduled for a job, the job changes or is confirmed, or you're taken off it. Whoever does the planning isn't notified about their own changes.
Someone on the crew reports absence — a push notification for you as a planner when someone on the crew reports, changes or cancels an absence for themselves.

Want peace from one kind of notification? Set the row to Off. The rest carry on as before.
What the notification says
A notification should tell you enough to know what it's about before you open the app. Tredco includes the company name, who it concerns, and for quotes the quote number itself — for example "Quote #10101" with the customer's name below. A plan notification includes the project number and name, the days and the time, and the customer — so you know which job it's about before you open the calendar. You can tell from the lock screen whether it's urgent, without going in to look.
Each user controls their own notifications. What you set here applies to you — not the rest of the team. If a colleague wants different notifications, they do the same from their own account.
If you're not up and running yet, start with getting started. To learn more about the quotes that trigger these notifications, see quotes on site, and for the plan behind the calendar notifications, calendar and planning.
