Calendar and planning
Once the crew grows, keeping the week in your head stops working. The calendar in Tredco shows who works on which project when, who is free, and how much the team has left to give. Open it from the assistant — say “show the calendar” or “what's happening next week?” — or go straight to the calendar in the app.
Dates are ordinary calendar days in the company's week, Monday first. A free day is measured in person-days — one person-day is one person for a full working day (7.5 hours).
Your own week
Open the calendar as a tradesman and you see your own week: your days, your appointments hour by hour, and the colleagues placed on the same jobs as you. Colleagues only show on jobs you share — the rest of what others are doing is none of your concern.

You steer the calendar from the top: Views and calendars (the ☰ button on the left) opens the list of views, the month button in the middle lets you jump to a date, the arrows page one period at a time, and Today takes you back to the current day. On the phone you can also swipe sideways across the date row in the grid — left for the next period, right for the previous.
Choose a view
Tap ☰ and pick how time is shown: Schedule is a plain list of everything planned in the next four weeks, Day zooms in on one day, 3 days shows three days side by side, Week the whole week, and Month gives you the month grid. The phone opens on 3 days so job names have room; a wide screen opens on Week. Ask the assistant to plan a job and it opens the calendar in the view that best fits the job.
A colour each
Everyone on the crew has their own colour, and all of that person's jobs show in it — whether you see your own week or the whole crew. The initials lead the block, so you can tell whose job it is even in the tight phone columns. The colour comes automatically from day one, but you can pick it yourself: open the person's card in settings, find Calendar color and tap a colour dot — or Automatic to let Tredco choose. The colour says who the job is on, not what kind of job it is.
Crew — the planner's overview
If you are the one handing out the work, Crew sits in the menu under For planners. It gives you the whole team on one screen: one row per person, one column per day. At the bottom sits person-days per day — how many person-days are free against how many the team has in total. You see at a glance who has room and which days are full.

Under the grid sits the key to the statuses — here it is the pattern that counts, not the colour: a solid fill is Confirmed, hatched is Reserved – awaiting the customer, and striped is Unavailable – no reason. Need the weekend too? Turn on Show weekend. To control whose calendars show, use Show calendars in the menu — tick people one by one, or pick Show everyone or Only me.
Place a job
To put someone on a job, tap + New at the top (on the phone, the round button at the bottom right). The New entry card opens, where you build the entry top to bottom:
- What — tap Pick a project and look it up, or use the type choices to switch to Quote or Absence. To give the job its own name in the calendar, tap Own title; Change lets you pick another project or quote.
- When — set the First day and Last day. Choose the Part of the day — Whole day, Morning or Afternoon — or turn on Time of day to set a Start time and End time.
- Who — tick the people who go on the job. If someone is open, it says free next to the name.
- Turn on The customer has confirmed if it applies, add a note with Add a note if you like — “bring the scaffolding” — and tap Save.
You can also skip the card: drag across the time you want to plan straight in the grid, or tap for one hour. The assistant plans for you too — ask it to “put Ola on Storgata Thursday and Friday” and it lays out the proposal for you to approve.
Reserved or confirmed
A job on a project with a customer starts as Reserved — you have held the time, but you are still waiting on the customer's yes, and it shows dashed in the calendar. Once you know the customer is in, turn on The customer has confirmed in the card, so the job stands as Confirmed and a fixed appointment.
See, edit or move a job
Tap a block in the calendar and a card opens showing the job: title and time at the top, then who is on it, where it is, the note and the status. As a planner you fix the job with the pencil (Edit) — that opens Edit entry, already filled in — or you open More actions to Move the job, set The customer has confirmed, or Remove it (tap again to confirm). If you are not a planner, you just read the card; your own absence you can always clear yourself.
Choose Move and the job lifts out and sits in the toolbar at the top. Tap the new spot in the calendar — or drag the job there — and a short Confirm the move shows From and To and who gets a notice. Nothing is saved until you tap Move.
Report absence
Going away — sick, on holiday, a day off — tap Report absence in the menu (or choose Absence in the card) and pick the days. The calendar then only knows you are unavailable; no reason is stored or shown to anyone. Change your mind? Open the day, tap the absence and choose Remove the absence under More actions. Anyone can report their own absence; planned work is only changed by a planner.
Notice when the plan changes
You don't have to keep watching the calendar yourself. When you are placed on a job, moved, confirmed or taken off it, you get a push notification on your phone — tap it and the calendar opens at the right week and day. The planner who made the change gets no notice of their own work. When someone on the crew reports, changes or cancels an absence, a notice goes to the planners so they can plan around it.
Want to steer this? You'll find the two switches under notifications in the Calendar group: Your plan changes and Someone on the crew reports absence. Both are on from the start.
Who sees and plans
What you can do in the calendar follows your role: a Member sees their own week and can report their own absence, while Team lead, Office and the owner see the whole crew and plan for it. To control who can do what, see the team, roles and access.
The calendar pulls the jobs from your projects — so it all begins with a quote on site. Not up and running yet? Start with getting started.
