Deleting and restoring quotes

Sometimes a quote is left lying around that shouldn't be there — a duplicate, a test, a draft you never sent. You can delete it, and you can change your mind. A deleted quote isn't gone for good: it moves to the bottom of the quotes list and can be brought back exactly as it was.

How to delete a quote

Open the quote and press the ⋯ button in the corner. That's where Delete quote lives.

The first press deletes nothing — the button switches to Confirm deletion, so you get to say so twice. Press once more and the quote is deleted. If you'd rather not, just close the menu and it resets.

Deleting a quote deletes the quote alone. The project it belongs to stays as it is, with the same status — archiving a project is a separate action. So you remove one quote without touching the rest of the job.

Deleted quotes are still findable

Deleted quotes don't disappear from the overview — they gather at the bottom of the quotes list under Deleted, most recently deleted first. The section sits closed and only appears when there's actually something in it.

You see it when you're on the All tab with no search and no status filter — it belongs to the whole list, not to whatever you've filtered down to. When there are many, twenty show at a time behind Show more.

Each row shows the customer and the status the quote comes back with. Press Restore and it's back in the list right away — with its own lines, prices, correspondence, files and project link untouched. A sent quote comes back as sent; nothing is reset to draft.

They're in the project too

If the quote is tied to a project, it stays there after you delete it — as a greyed-out card with the Deleted seal. The card won't open, but it has a Restore button, so you can bring the quote back straight from the project without going through the quotes list.

The assistant can do it – and undo it

Ask the assistant to delete a quote and it does it the same way, and you see Deleting quote while it works. If you change your mind, it can restore what it just deleted — just say so in the chat.

Who can delete and restore quotes follows the role in the team. Anyone allowed to delete quotes can also bring them back. See Roles and access for who has which rights.

One thing to know about approval links

If you sent the quote with an approval button to the customer, the link stops working the moment the quote is deleted: the customer is told the quote is no longer available, and nothing can be approved. Restore the quote and the link works again as before.
