Standing preferences

If you tell the assistant the same thing over and over — "always round to the nearest ten kroner", "always write quotes in Nynorsk", "always add this note at the bottom" — you shouldn't have to repeat yourself. The assistant can remember how you want things, and do it that way every time. We call that a standing preference: something you say once that stays in force until you withdraw it.

You decide what it remembers. A preference can apply to you alone, or to the whole company — and you can see what's saved and remove what you no longer want at any time.

How to save a preference

New preferences are made in the conversation, not in settings. When you ask the assistant to always do something a certain way, it understands this is something you want kept — and puts up a card for you to answer, marked Standing preference.

The card says what the two choices mean: "Remember for me" applies to you alone. If you accept, the assistant remembers this for you and acts on it going forward — and you can withdraw it at any time. Once saved, the card switches to Active and shows a small mark of who it applies to — Just for you.

For you, or for the whole company

A preference can apply at two levels:

• Your own — it applies to you alone, and you are the only one who sees it and can withdraw it. A colleague using Tredco at the same company notices nothing of your own preferences.
• For the whole company — it applies to everyone on the crew, and comes before what each person has chosen for themselves. It's a way to set a shared standard for how the company does things.

The For the whole company choice on the card only appears if you're allowed to save for the company — the owner and admins decide the company's preferences. If someone else tries, the assistant says only the owner or an admin can do it. If you only see Remember for me, it's because the company choice isn't yours to make.

See and withdraw what's saved

Everything the assistant remembers for you gathers in one place: under You in settings, in the Standing preferences row. The line under the name tells you how many are saved — for example "2 for you · 1 for the company", or None yet if it remembers nothing.

To remove a preference, tap Withdraw on the row. The button asks once more — it switches to Withdraw the preference, with Cancel beside it — so you don't remove anything by accident. Tap again and it's gone.

Your own you can always withdraw yourself. The company's preferences can only be removed by the owner and admins; if you're on the crew without that role, you see them but leave them be. Other people's own, personal preferences you never see — not even as an admin.

To change who a preference applies to, withdraw it and let the assistant propose it again, at the level you want.
